Pursuant to Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015
At BASSEL®, one of our most fundamental commitments is to contribute to a fairer and more responsible global economy. Regardless of operational challenges, we remain steadfast in our dedication to ethical business practices and the protection of human rights.
We welcome the transparency requirements of Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and fully support the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. We are committed to “knowing and showing” that our operations respect human dignity and fundamental freedoms.
Modern slavery is a criminal offense and a grave violation of human rights. It includes slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labor, and human trafficking — all of which involve the exploitation of individuals through deprivation of freedom for personal or commercial gain.
BASSEL® maintains a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage in or support any business that is involved in such practices.
Our Policies and Governance
To ensure ethical conduct across all operations, BASSEL® has implemented:
A Global Behavior Policy, approved at Director level, applicable to all personnel
A dedicated Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Policy
A Board-approved Global Procurement Policy
Structured compliance, legal, and internal audit oversight
These policies establish clear systems and controls designed to prevent slavery or human trafficking within our business or supply chains.
Supplier Standards & Due Diligence
We expect all suppliers and business partners to meet our ethical and legal standards.
Our procurement processes include:
Formal due diligence assessments
Legal and compliance review procedures
Contractual obligations to comply with all applicable laws, including the Modern Slavery Act 2015
Audit rights to verify supplier compliance
Immediate termination rights in case of violation
Supplier selection decisions are based not only on price and delivery capability, but also on legal compliance history and ethical performance standards.
